Share Swiss Banker Leaks Data On Tax Evaders and Money Launderers to Wikileaks

Former Swiss banker Rudolf Elmer, has leaked data to Wikileaks that could potentially shame thousands of tax evaders and money launderers who use the off-shore haven to hide their criminal activities.

Although the data has yet to be published, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has promised full disclosure.

According to Swiss newspaper Der Sonntag, the data collected between 1990 and 2009 covers multinationals, financial firms and wealthy individuals from many countries, including the UK, US and Germany.

Like Private Bradley Manning who leaked classified video of American forces killing unarmed civilians in Baghdad, Mr. Elmer will also face strong repercussions from the establishment, and will go on trial in Switzerland on Wednesday for breaking bank secrecy laws. “I am taking the responsibility for this,” he said at a press conference in London.

“I’ve been there. I’ve done the job. I know what is the day-to-day business…I’m against the system. I know how the system works.”

Mr. Assange said that financial institutions “operate outside the rule of law”.

Unfortunately the system Elmer and Assange speak of is rarely fair. Although Assange has mentioned bringing in the Serious Fraud Office in the UK, one has to remember that tax evaders like Vodafone were given a pass by George Osbourne despite owing £6bn.

Multi-billionaire businessman Philip Green, who paid himself a record payout of £1.2bn through his wife in Monaco, was chosen by the UK Government to conduct a report on Government spending!

What’s stopping the Government giving any other high ranking businessman a free pass?

Of course the concept of tax itself is now redundant. Britain is £1.4 trillion in debt to private investors and offshore banks. The average person’s tax money is simply a fraction of the interest of this national debt.

Exposing the corruption within the current system is paramount to waking people up to the kind of world we live in, but the ultimate goal should be a complete overhaul of the monetary system, to something more balanced like debt free money creation by the state and less fractional reserve banking.

Proceedings to extradite Jullian Assange from Britain to Sweden to face allegations of sexual wrongdoing is still ongoing. He will appear in court again on Feb 7th and 8th.
