This article confuses the reader into thinking these bills are about enforcing copyright laws in the digital age. This couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s about information control and population control. If occasionally people are arrested and made an example of for downloading movies and music for free, it’s because the big content distribution companies are lobbying the government. But for the government, who couldn’t care less about music copyright, it’s an excuse to censor and control information flow.
