‘Not Guilty’ Pleads Alleged Federal Reserve Bomb Plotter Quazi Mohammad

Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, has pleaded not guilty for his alleged role in attempting to blow up the New York Federal Reserve bank in October.
The 21-year-old Bangladeshi national, who has resided in the US for less than a year on a student Visa, was charged with providing “material support to Al Qaeda” and “attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction”.
Serious questions have been raised about the legitimacy of the charges, because at each step of the way Nafis was enabled by the FBI.
The controversial agency claim Nafis expressed the desire to create a terrorist cell shortly after his arrival in the country, but the specific language and circumstances surrounding this accusation have not been disclosed, and there is nothing to suggest he was involved in terrorist related activities prior to the sting operation. From the beginning he was monitored by a series of informants and undercover officers, who posed as Al Qaeda members and provided him with a inert 1,000-pound bomb. At no point was he a legitimate threat.
An alleged confession video filmed from an adjacent hotel in Downtown New York moments before his arrest, reportedly featured Nafis heavily disguised and distorted, shedding more doubt on the legitimacy of the charges.
Early media reports that he was also planning to assassinate President Obama are completely unfounded and do feature in the Federal Complaint or charges.
He is next scheduled to appear in court on January 9.
