The police are above the law. No one in authority will deal with police corruption. see 'Brighton Scandal' on Google. Michael Coughtrey

This is nothing new, all these legalisations put in place to protect us are used against us.
I have yet to have one legally work in my favour unless a "hint" of cohesion was hinted at.
Secret DWP documents pertaining to myself which I once managed to obtain, clearly stated in big bold hand written red ink "disallow for life" charming eh? I only wanted to claim back some of my parents taxes whilst sick!

This reminds me of the very true stories back in 70ies when working class union members.(steel workers) where in talks to implement higher pay and higher standards of health and safety also debating the rumour of out sourcing over seas.

They were weary of having telephones and televisions in the house they suspected MI6 were monitoring and having bugging equipment placed in the TV’s, black and white ones at the time and mainly seconded hand bought, that were always back and fore for repair. Quite often if TV was allowed the men would insist on stripping them down to check for surveillance equipment, No chances were being took that the repair business owner hadn’t been paid off!...men who were directly involved in talks and on a three day week would do a lot of leisure walking of the dog and us children (yes i was of them) and paper coded messages would be picked up and left in hedgerows, slotted between brick work of old bridges! informing of meetings off the record discussing how to over throw management and certain corrupt union bosses.

Gwad what a laugh was had (don’t mean that in facetious way) Solidarity was strong back then.
I can now repeat this, without concerns of being dragged off to dark deep under ground bunkers! or
A-Wing mental ward under the terrorism act! as the men involved are all long since dead and it would be classed as hear say!.......One plant in South Wales won hand over fist their demands by blackmailing management, with help from certain council and other officials who supported their cause, and doing their own surveillance, enough evidence of managements’ private shady under handed dealing were gathered; It was the 70ies! a photo of a married man in bed with a mistress back then was enough to have them ruined. Unlike today where they are pushed side ways or given a golden hand shake!!.......What’s all this got to do with Mr Emslie?

These lawyers and local police etc all piss in the same pot all the more reason to befriend them and play them at their own game!
He should have attracted beneficial acquaintances and acquired the art of beating them at their own game by attending local meetings and raising concerns via his ward councillors and MP.
Some rules may have changed but the game is still the same……..fighting them with their own rules is how they’re beaten!

I have known this chap for 45 years and must say I found him a very straight pleasant guy. He might be a bit serious in what he believes in, he is certainly not insane as has been made out. I also have had some hassle with the police in the past, I may say, it was absolutely nothing criminal on my behalf, it was attempting to get the police to do what they are paid to do, that is, when my property got seriously damaged, I tried to get action, I got nothing. Finally I wrote to the Chief of Police, then I got first class attention. Might it be that David should have gone further up the line of command

Someone should help David take up his case to the Euroean Court of Human Rights.
Police failing to protect the the Public!!! Deprivation of Housing Benefit is a breach of Article 1 Protocol Breach. I believe this is also a breach of EU Law

This problem is not only pervalent in Scotland, but is very much active south of the Scots border, in England.
In fact thw judiciary together with the Insolvency Services, the Trustees in Bankruptcy, certain members of the Magic Circle firms, the various police forces up and down the country, the SRA, the Bar Standards Council etc are all involved in a protection racket, i.e asset stripping, and wearing you down in the event you pursue justice or are close to exposing their corrupt activities.

There is no rule of law as we have known it and since there can be no victims without the tacit approval of the Bar Standards Council, the Solicitors' Regulator, the Judiciary, the Police and the government.

This is not as unbelievable as some of your foul mouthed critics advocate, and it is not exclusive to Scotland. Nevertheless there are some honest policemen and women out there, as there are a few competent officials. Sadly the system is against exposure of the miscreants.

The need is for a body that can accept the evidences of the whistle-blowers, check it out, make it public and pursue the individuals until they are brought before a totally independant body of the highest order, Such a body should be able to impose justice on the perpetrators of such anti-civil activities.

Our under-cover television 'detectives' seem to have had the best record in achieving such exposure to date.

I have had reason to make a complaint against a Grampian Police Officer. The incident and effect was not as serious as the ones described by David but it gave me an insight into the attitude of this policeman and also the denial by the police force in general. They can never be in the wrong.
"In the order of nature…the state precedes the individual." - Aristotle

David has problems because "It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong." - Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire, 1694-1778

There are some submitting comments here who seem to have their heads in the clouds and don't seem to realize what goes on behind the scenes. They will learn in time for "Wisdom comes by disillusionment." ~ George Santayana

If it was not for people like David bringing issues to public attention the politicians would pull the blanket over an apathetic and ignorant populace.
And David is justified in seeking the same rights as every other citizen is entitled to, no more and no less.
"When an individual is protesting society's refusal to acknowledge his dignity as a human being, his very act of protest confers dignity on him." - Bayard Rustin
