The idea of a cashless society was once again pushed in the headlines today by wire service Reuters:
“LONDON (Reuters) – Cash payments are expected to make up less than half of all transactions in Britain in five years’ time, according to research published on Wednesday, as cards increasingly take over.
The Payments Council found cash transactions fell from 73 percent in 1999 to 59 percent last year, while annual debit card spending quadrupled from 65 billion to 264 billion pounds over the same period.
The habit of spending cash in pubs and clubs has seen a particularly steep decline. In 1999, nine out of 10 drinks were bought with notes or coins, compared with four in 10 by 2009.”
The end game of the financial criminals is to have a global financial system that is completely cashless; with transactions made through implantable microchips, as is already seen on the club scene.
