WideShut.co.uk represents a new era of open source information sharing. Traditional mainstream news media and entertainment in the West, is owned and controlled by a small corporate and governmental ruling class, that impose their agenda on to the public and ignore dissenting voices.

In the US there are only 6 mega-corporations that control virtually every mainstream media outlet. These are Time Warner, Walt Disney, Viacom/CBS, News Corporation, and NBC Universal (which in turn is owned by Comcast and General Electric).

In the UK where WideShut is based, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation owns The Sun, The Times and Sunday Times, Sky News and a large percentage of BSkyB (Sky TV). Sky owns a large stake in the ITV channel and provides the news for Channel 5.

Northern & Shell own the Daily Express, Sunday Express, Daily Star, Daily Star Sunday, OK!, New!, and Star, Portland TV and Channel 5.

DMGT own The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The Evening Standard, Ireland on Sunday, and the London daily Metro, as well as many of your “local” newspapers. They also have a large share in ITN news.

Archant and Johnston Press own the rest of the regional newspapers.

And then there is the BBC, a state owned news outlet which the public are forced to fund through a TV license, and Channel 4, which is now also funded by the state.

WideShut aims to break through this monopoly on “news” by bringing you an alternative perspective, drawing special attention to the imperialist expansion of the Anglo-American empire (otherwise known as the New World Order agenda), that looks to further consolidate the power, resources and media of the world. Here you will find news articles, radio shows and video content, covering major stories from the UK and overseas, that aren’t clouded by western big business and government biases.

Is This Just A Conspiracy Theory Website?
This website is not a conspiracy theory website. We have never reported about green aliens or absurd claims like “Obama is the anti-Christ”. We use real sources of information to ask legitimate questions and to come to real conclusions. We challenge anybody to debate us on the facts. Why the name WideShut?
The name WideShut is a homage to the masterpiece of a movie “Eyes Wide Shut”, by Stanley Kubrick. The film artistically demonstrates how powerful cliques within society conspire for their own gain at the expense of the masses.

When used symbolically the term WideShut refers to a sector of society that may have their eyes open physically, but are not consciously disseminating the propaganda and agendas that are sold to them through the tightly controlled mainstream media. This is similar to the Japanese proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”, or to bury one’s head in the sand.
